The Return: The Dark Side of the Earth
The light is ever present. It is never diminished or lost, and it will always return. Darkness exists only as the Earth turns away from the sun. In doing so, it reveals a cold and indisputable truth: that it holds no light within, that it is merely a receptive and interconnected field, governed by an external force of nature that holds the power. The sun is an unstoppable force, and at its ‘heart’ is fire, where hydrogen collapses into helium, an infinite furnace releasing streams of energy that pour across the cosmos. Its light and heat are not fragile or finite; they are unceasing, regenerative, and unstoppable, sustaining life across the planet, driving every pulse of growth, every breath, every moment of awakening. Even when hidden or masked by shadow, the sun does not dim. It cannot be diminished. Its energy continues to burn with the same intensity across the cosmic field, as pure life force and consciousness that animates all life on the Earth.
Our human experience of darkness emerges elsewhere. It begins when we, on the Earth, turn away from the light. Our darkness intensifies as humanity rotates into the vast expanse of the cold night. The light, however, is not lost; it is merely masked, shadowed by the turning, which leaves a black cast over previous illumination. As the Earth turns away, it does not experience what we perceive as ‘withholding’; it instead experiences truth. The cold, dark truth of itself. Much of humanity has chosen a rotation away from the light, arrogantly descending deeper into darkness. After having benefitted from basking in the sun’s warmth for so long, it eventually deceived itself. It mistook itself for radiance, an illusion that collapses when the last beams of light are no longer received, leaving it lost in the dark abyss of itself.
The light, however, is never lost. It only appears absent while we turn away. On the other side of the shadowed self, it remains, and it endures, regenerative, self-sustaining, and ever bright. The dark side of humanity we experience is not an evil force cast down from beyond; it is created from within, through the rotation of the self away from the light, from purity, and from the enduring fire of higher consciousness. Even as we move through the dark cycles of our lives and enter periods of shadow, we can always return to alignment and light, as we have the capacity to shift once more into the warmth of the sun. This is her power. This is her all-encompassing source. Her fire does not die; she will not burn out.
As modern humanity now moves through another period of selective darkness, a rotation into its own shadow, it is again turning away from the warmth of the sun, and sadly from life-affirming energy and harmony. Far from our ‘cosmic destiny’, this darkness is not imposed; it is chosen, cultivated, and habitual, drawn from fear, unconscious patterns of lack and competition, and the shadows of old, untreated wounds. Yet even within this dark shadowland of self, the light persists, constant, regenerative, waiting for its return. It requires grace and humility to understand the power of its presence and fundamental proximity. The moment we confront this truth, we realise that descent into darkness was never imposed and the light was never withheld. Our experience of darkness is self-imposed, and the power to return, to align, to harmoniously receive the sun’s warmth, is forever possible within our rotation.
Cycles of shadow and illumination are inevitable on Earth while humanity navigates these turning points. Some move through repeated patterns, oscillating between light glimpsed and darkness embraced, carrying the imprint of childhood wounds, inherited conditioning, and unexamined fear. Others, awakening to the presence of life-force energy, make a different choice. They rotate toward the light and orient themselves into conscious alignment that generates growth, creativity, and harmony. Each rotation toward illumination is a return, a realignment with the fire that had never left, a recognition that prosperity, peace, and conscious evolution are not gifts to be taken or earned, but realities that flow naturally into our experience when the self stops resisting its own divine alignment.
We are currently experiencing a planetary shift. As we move into the unity of the New Earth, away from programs of lack, struggle, and competition, we are now guided to make a choice. A split and shift in consciousness is occurring for all, both those who choose to live in light and those who choose to cast themselves in shadow. Some will continue to dwell in their cold, dark night, cycling endlessly in contraction, avoidance, arrogance, conflict, and disconnection. Others will turn consciously toward the light, toward the warm, powerful resonance of the sun, into self-awareness, and toward the life force that delivers infinite regenerative power, fertility, and radiance.
Despite what we have long been programmed to believe, we are not condemned or judged in our rotation. We live in a universe of truth, not one governed by imposed morality, but by the laws of cause and effect. We are not judged by the light because we have chosen to turn away into darkness; it does not punish, and it does not retreat. It continues. It burns and emanates as it always has, awaiting the courage to receive it, the willingness of the inner self to turn again toward it, to accept and face the truth of its own darkness, that it was self-imposed, and that alignment can be found again at any time, shining upon the self and the collective consciousness of humanity.
The dark side of humanity does not exist in finality, nor is it external or eternal. It is rotation, a turning away from the light in order to experience the truth of its own darkness. And with every shift, we experience the possibility of return, either toward the warmth and regeneration of the light or the cold darkness within ourselves. This is the distinct separation we are witnessing in humanity, a split between those who seek to understand and those who do not. If we expand our consciousness, we can become open to the truth: that we have all, at some time, turned away from the light, and that return is always a choice, one that lies within.
